Is it advisable to store metal parts in a cardboard box?
It is important to note that majority of cardboard boxes are made from papers that are very acidic. Hence, a metal part that comes into contact with these cardboard boxes has a very high chance of corrosion. Furthermore, most cardboard boxes are non airtight which will enable moisture and dust to enter as well as VCI vapor to escape.
To use cardboard boxes as storage medium together with VCI paper, kindly ensure that a layer of plastic bag (more than 60μm is preferable) are utilize and tightly sealed when packing.
